When I lived in Mississippi, I really missed the changing of seasons, (namely, fall). In Mississippi, it goes from hot to cold, and then back to hot again, instead of the luxury of rhythmic seasonal change. This realization was much to my dismay, as I was under the impression that it was always warm in the South. Don’t buy into the hype. It’s lies. All lies. The winters get cold and the summers get really hot. And there is no such thing as easing into it. It just hits you all at once…BAM!
Anyway. Every fall, on their way to Texas, my grandparents would stop to visit me. And, without fail, they’d bring me a huge bag of apples. What screams fall more than a bag of apples straight from the orchard? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Unless you have caramel to dip them in. Then that might.
With this in mind, on this quintessentially fall day, my roommates and I set out to go see a local apple orchard.
Check out the cider press. Nifty, huh?
We wandered around the barn-turned-store, and sipped on apple cider slushies (yum!)
Then we wandered around the orchard and enjoyed the 60 degrees, the fall breeze and the sunshine. Perfect for jeans and boots and jackets. Yes!
There may have been some camera timer-using, group photo shoot-ing going on. I’ll share the evidence later
